Feeling energetic? Yeah, sure, you betcha…
I’m constantly amazed at how effortless and seamless my campaign has been going. I admittedly have to give a good chunk of credit to my lovely wife, Susie, who signed on for more than she bargained for - being my campaign manager. But I am thankful to all the people who have helped us - Melissa, Diane, Tommy, Rob, Myrene, Kim, Maggie, Sheila, to name a few. I’m also blown away by the number of unsolicited contributions people have sent in! We weren’t even asking for anything until AFTER I got the nomination, but to all of you (you know who you are) eternal gratitude and thanks - we’ve overwhelmed.
I’ve been calling all of the delegates these past weeks, and that’s probably been one of the most fun parts of the campaign (besides the roast beef dinners at the district conventions!) - North Dakota is just full of great folks. We’ve talked stocks, we’ve talked weather and crops, we’ve talked about family, and about our hopes for the state. I’m an advocate for the people, so that’s where I’m spending my time - with people.
We’re all set with the rest of our campaign plans, as well as lining up quite a few great surprises for the state convention. That’s what makes this whole thing worth it - the fun we’re having. Are we tired? Sure, sometimes, but the overwhelming feeling is one of sheer joy that we live in a country that allows and encourages us to live our dreams, and my dream is to be the next Public Service Commissioner. So with that in mind, I sign off.
